AWW 1 Nov. 2023      Sarnadas but the walk will remain nameless !

16 walkers set off from the little cafe in Sarnadas (as per walk description) on the dot of 10am(as per walk description).

Along tracks ( as per walk description ) to Joao Andrea and the now very familiar rainbow house.

Along the way we passed olive pickers - the real thing

and someone who was pretending to pick olives ( but her total inexperience shows as she's actually picking medronhos

Ken continues to find more items for his 2 wheeler collection.

We passed the old village school and found a mushroom . Decided that divided into 16 wasn't worth picking.

After all this excitement we started the real work.

A short section of off-piste ( as per walk description )

and some hills ( as per walk description )

Lunch where it wasn't too windy

and a trig point ( as per walk description )

At some point David kindly pointed out that the walk description was misleading  - he was right , the puddles were shallow and no-one needed plastic bags !

All back safely

Thanks to Geoff for the photos aka doing an Alan.

Many thanks to Martin for his company on the recce and especially for helping to re-unite me with my phone on said recce and,  as always , thanks for joining me.

  1. I was pleased that the walk description said "descents are not too steep ".....dread to think what steep ones would have been like. One of those walks best savoured in hindsight, though perhaps I'm just very unfit after a summer lay-off! Anyway, thanks Ros.

  5. Thanks Ros for interesting walk. All managed to come back in one piece although poor old Geoff had an argument with a bush with bloody consequences!
