THE HILLS
OF ODELOUCA – WEDNESDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2023
After cancelling the walk on Tuesday due to lack of interest
Ros messaged to say she had already arranged to pick Terry up. They had forgotten to advise me they were
walking. So, the walk went ahead as
advertised.
Just 3 walkers. Ros, Terry, Linda plus Toby the dog.
We headed out at 9.30am hoping it wouldn’t get too hot. We walked up and down the hills, into the valleys and back up and down the hills. Enjoying nice views and a cooling breeze from the tops. Lots of chatter along the way and Terry updated us on his holiday to North America and the Antarctic.
We found a small amount of shade to stop and eat our snacks.
Toby found a muddy baragem to cool off in and later a brown
muddy puddle.
Back down the hill to enjoy cool drinks at the Ourique
Restaurant. We finished the walk in 3 ½
hours having cut a small section out, thus reducing the walk to 12 kms. It was too hot to do any more.
Glad Toby has recovered well from his recent ordeals.
ReplyDeleteYes Toby's looking very well. Obviously well fed while on his sabbatical.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the walk went ahead.
Looking forward to hearing about Antarctica.
