AWW (English Branch) - Wednesday 6 May
On a Spring day, with weather more reminiscent of the Algarve than middle England
two participants gathered for their latest lockdown walk
two participants gathered for their latest lockdown walk
We started in our garden with enjoying a pre-walk coffee
Then its off up the hill out of the village. Is that Colditz glimpsed through the
trees? No its our local outdoor activity centre and one participant had to be
persuaded not to run off for some fun on the empty equipment

Next we passed through a locked down golf course - normally a hive of activity but
not now as the line of empty buggies and deserted greens shows

Then into the woods and a wonky bridge to negotiate (knocked sideways in the
winter floods)

Onwards with bluebells in profusion
Then open country with our local highest hill, Titterstone Clee (533m),
on the skyline

And so to lunch
Down to the river and along the banks back to the village
Finally welcome beers at the finish
Our stats were 4 km/ hour, 400m of ascent and ‘undisclosed’ distance and time (to avoid incrimination)
Cheers
Bob & Maggie
